Description
English: Looking SSE from Clark Bridge.

Towboat "George R. Baker" (doc. # 636061) downbound. Near the river, left of center, is the sand yard office building which will later house the offices of the Waterfront Development Corp. Construction of the wharf extension can be seen right of center. Of the three Belknap Hardware warehouses in the distance, the nearest two will be demolished and the largest one will become the Humana Waterside Building. . The twin screw towboat "George R. Baker" (length 145 feet, width 48 feet, GM 16-645E7B diesels, 6140 hp) was built in 1981 by Jeffboat, Jeffersonville, Indiana, and originally owned by M/G Transport Services, Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1994, the boat was sold to Ingram Barge Co., Nashville, Tennessee, and renamed "Roy E. Claverie". . Ohio River mile 604. Louisville, Kentucky. Mar. 1988. file # 88c105.
