[edit]Description66755 Mountfield to Peterborough Virtual GBRf 4E19 (15843337924).jpg |
GB Railfreight's class 66/7 (JT42CWR) number 66755 in GBRf blue and mustard yellow livery with orange cantrail and solebar stripes with Europorte branding. Here it is photographed hauling empty gypsum containers mounted on flat wagons from Mountfield Sidings (GBRf) East Sussex to Peterborough Virtual GBRf (4E19) on 7 February 2015. To comply with gas emission regulations limestone (CaCO3) delivered to the power station (by other trains) is used to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) from the flue gasses, by converting it into gypsum (CaSO4·2H2O). The waste product (gypsum) is then delivered to British Gypsum's Robertsbridge Works by train where it is used to manufacture plaster and plasterboard. Numbers of the wagons being hauled included 640647, 640651, 640678, 640644, 640634, 640682, 640673, 640688, 640642, 640657, 640633, 640661 and 640674. 66755 (works number 20128816-004) was built by Progress Rail facility (a subsidiary of Caterpillar Incorporated) in Muncie, Indiana, USA in 2014, from where it was hauled dead in tow to Norfolk, Virginia by EMD's SD60M locomotive number SOO 6061 before being transported by sea via New York and unloaded from the Heavy Lift Ship HR "Resolution" at Newport Docks on 11 July 2014.
