[edit]Description5 neat meat from apex 3050x2150 ATW 20111112 2355.jpg |
English: (Fig. 5) - Intimate Contact Induced Surface Separation (ICISS) is a novel method (1) invented and published by its author Adrian Toader-Williams of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV), Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The snails are introduced into a microwave oven exposed to 800W of microwave power at 2450 MHz frequency for a period of time dependent on the quantity of snails exposed at once. ICISS is proved during extensive experiments to quickly inhibit terrestrial snails’ nervous system in order to reduce their pain and suffering and to facilitate the complete meat removal from the shell. Upon exposure to microwave radiation, the meat will be easily and completely extracted from the shell obtaining smooth surfaces including deep down to the intimacy of the shells apex. Ref: (1)
