KUMAMOTO, Japan – Guardsmen from Georgia’s 560th BFSB joined U.S. and Japan Ground Self Defense Force troops here at Camp Kengun for Yama Sakura 59, Jan. 20 through Feb 2, 2011. YS59 is an annual bilateral joint training exercise between the JGSDF and the U.S. intended to strengthen the working relationship and combat readiness of the two nations. A series of cultural events during Yama Sakura 59, like the Japanese tea ceremony were made available to the troops.
