English: U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to Bastion Company, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade, stage their tactical gear for easy deployment during North and West Africa Response Force (NARF) training at Aviano Air Base, Italy, Jan. 22, 2024. U.S. service members assigned to U.S. Africa Command's NARF provide crisis and contingency response capabilities in North and West Africa. The NARF is on call and ready to provide the U.S. Africa Command commander the capability to quickly respond to protect U.S. personnel and interests in the region.
