Description

Monumentalna Elektrownia Szombierki powstała tuż po I wojnie światowej, na zamówienie Schaffgotsh Bergwerksgesellschaft GmbH, należącej do spadkobierczyni majątku po Karolu Godul - Joanny Gryzik. Budynek zaprojektowali kuzyni Emil i Georg Zillmanowie. Emerytowana elektrownia dziś stała się obiektem kultury z najbardziej wyjątkową salą widowiskową w dawnej hali maszyn.

The monumental Szombierki Powerplant was built after World War I for the Schaffgotsh Bergwerksgesellschaft GmbH, a company belonging to Joanna Gryzik, heir of Karol Godula. It was designed by the famous architects Emil and Georg Zillman from Berlin. The retired plant today powers only culture, with it's unique and extraordinary machine hall where cultural events (including opera) take place.
