English: The 4th Battalion, 118th Infantry Regiment's softball league finished up here, Nov. 16, with the Delta Company Juggernauts winning the championship over the Camp Command Cell Cobras. The final score was 30 to 12. Eight battalion teams took part in the softball league, which began about two and half months ago. The battalion, which belongs to the South Carolina Army National Guard, assumed security force and camp-operations missions in Northern Kuwait in April. Delta Company, based in Marion, S.C., was part of security-force operations. Most of the Camp Command Cell Troops belong to the battalion's Headquarters and Headquarters Company, based in Mullins, S.C. The Camp Command Cell and others like it oversee and run all life-support functions for three camps in Northern Kuwait. In addition to fulfilling their primary missions and keeping their soldier skills sharp, hundreds of battalion troops have taken advantage of educational opportunities offered to them during the deployment, such as emergency medical technician, leadership, and online college courses. |
