Description
English: 4X-ACH, 4X-ACZ and a third unidentified aircraft comprise the Chim Avir fleet in 1953. 4X-ACH, Boeing Stearman, was originally built in 1942 for the United States Army Air Forces. Sold to Chim Avir in July 1950 and served as crop duster for five years until sold to the Israeli Air Force. Used for training at the Kfar Sirkin flight school. In 1970 sold to Marom Aviation (today Chim-Nir) and used shortly in the 70's. Brought back to flying condition in June 1982 and place in the Israel Air Force Museum. Burnt by accident in 2014 by a smoking a cigarette.
עברית: בואינג סטירמן, 4X-AHC, נבנה במקור בשנת 1942 עבור חילות האוויר של צבא ארצות הברית. נמכר עם תום מלחמת העולם השנייה כעודפי מלחמה. נרכש על ידי כים אוויר ושימש כמטוס ריסוס במשך כחמש שנים עד שנמכר לחיל האוויר ושימש כמטוס אימון בבית הספר לטיסה בכפר סירקין. בשנות ה-70 נמכר שוב לשימוש אזרחי וטס תקופה קצרה. בשנות ה-80 שופץ ושוקם בחזרה למצב טיסה והועבר למוזיאון חיל האוויר בחצרים, שם טס עד לשנת 2014, שאז נשרף בתאונה על ידי חייל שעישן סיגריה.
