English: Two Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Marines rinse off their gloves of any chemical agents after gathering samples during a CBRN training exercise at Westfield, May 13, 2014. Marines with CBRN platoon, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, conducted assessment and consequence management training through several scenarios to sustain familiarity of safely conducting research and gathering samples in a contaminated environment. One scenario contained an aircraft leaking chemical agents while the other scenario included locating a chemical agent spill and rescuing multiple casualties in the field. Both scenarios utilized the Rapid Area Sensitive Sight Reconnaissance robot, the only one in existence, to investigate the hazardous areas to search for and mitigate potentially harmful substances CBRN personnel may not be aware of. 3rd MarDiv is currently researching how beneficial the RASSR would be for CBRN platoons throughout the Marine Corps.
