Description
Català: Xemeneia solitària. Pl. Ernest Lluch i Martín -recinte Fòrum- (Barcelona).
English: Xemeneia solitària (Parc del Fòrum, Barcelona. Meteorological column named “Solitary Chimney” and designed by architects JA Martínez Lapeña and Elías Torres. It is a 20-metre-high metal column containing analogue devices for data measurement, displayed on bright, digital banners that can move around and are located in the upper part of the column. It measures and displays wind speed and direction, temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure and solar radiation. At the top of the column, an analogue clock shows the time and a set of fixed rods indicate the four cardinal points. An anemometer and a small wind vane are also visible and a lightning conductor rises above the top.
