Description
English: 330-PS-9285 (428-GX-USN 814536): Navy Patrol Plane Makes Season’s First Flight to South Pole, November 16, 1958. A Navy Lockheed P2V aircraft takes off from the U.S. Naval Air Facility at McMurdo, Antarctica, on this year’s first flight to the south pole. The aircraft carried relief personnel and fragile equipment which could not be air dropped to Americans located at the South Pole.
