Description311 - 317 K Street, N.W..jpg |
English: Commercial properties located at 311–317 K Street, N.W., in the Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
The former row houses – example: 315 K Street, N.W., (center) was built in 1890 for $2,400, and originally served as the residence of Ellen Walsh – are examples of a restrained style of Italianate architecture. The garage visible on the right-hand side was the residence of sculptor Jacques Jouvenal (1829–1905), whose works include the Benjamin Franklin statue located in front of the Old Post Office Pavilion, the bust of Aaron Burr, included in the U.S. Senate Vice Presidential Bust Collection in the U.S. Capitol, and the Peter Force monument, located in Rock Creek Cemetery. |
