Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A German Beetle remote-controlled miniature tank, photographed on one of the invasion beaches (probably Utah Beach) shortly after the initial Normandy landings, June 1944. These small tracked vehicles, powered by two electric motors and stuffed with high explosives, were designed to attack landing craft as they came ashore. Note the concrete seawall in the background. Photograph from the U.S. Coast Guard Collection in the U.S. National Archives.
