| Description |
Formerly La Ferroviaria Italiana (LFI), this electrified network in Italy was renamed giving it a better regional identity - Trasporto Ferroviario Toscano SpA (TFT). Centred on Arezzo, two branches both with a regular service operate. Seen here at Sinalunga where I started my trip to cover both lines on 25 February 2015. Here TFT connects with the Trenitalia non-electrified line from Siena to Chiusi-Chianciano Terme. TFT have invested in new rolling stock whilst retaining a mixture of some very old EMUs. An example of new stock are 4 of these 3-car ME01 EMUs built by Alstom being identical to ones built for Trenitalia classified ALe501. In characteristic "Elfo" livery, set ETT22 waits departure with train R6022, 13:28 Sinalunga to Arezzo. |
