Summary
[edit]Description24Seven- ISS-RapidScat Data 20-30 EDT (26522106576).png |
English: On the International Space Station, ISS-RapidScat extends the data record of ocean winds around the globe. In 48 hours, ISS-RapidScat's 900-kilometer swath provides coverage of the majority of the ocean between 51.6 degrees north and south latitude -- approximately from north of Vancouver, Canada, to the southern tip of Patagonia. Earth's ocean surface wind speed and direction are a key factor in weather and marine forecasting and hurricane tracking. To view this data on your computer, visit: eyes.nasa.gov
