Description

SNCF branch lines were very often difficult to cover on an out and back basis. So often frequencies were poor with services running to a erratic timetable which was season or day of the week dependant. One such line was that from Rennes to Châteaubriant in Brittany. An hour journey in each direction with a 2-hour layover at the end of the branch was not uncommon. Taken on 21 August 1992, 2-car Caravelle DMU set in the distinctive green and white livery found in the area was caught on camera. Train 87555,16:49Châteaubriant to Rennes.

Unit formation was X4606 (power car) and X8406 (trailer).
