Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Chart showing relationship of national homicide rates versus median disposable household income (measured after taxes and benefits).
  • Homicide data from Homicide rate, 2023 / Annual number of deaths from homicide per 100,000 people (2024). Archived from the original on 13 November 2024. "Data source: United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (2024)"
  • Income data from Median income (after tax), 1963 to 2022 (2024). Archived from the original on 23 September 2024. "This data is adjusted for inflation and for differences in the cost of living between countries. Income here is measured after taxes and benefits. – Data source: Luxembourg Income Study (2024) – This data is measured in international-$ at 2017 prices. Income has been equivalized."
  • 49 nations were included, based on countries that were in both sources above.
  • Trendline was calculated based on that generated by Microsoft Excel charting the same data. R² = 0.3614. See w:Coefficient of determination.
  • Technical note: most SVG code was automatically generated by the "Scatterplots" spreadsheet linked at User:RCraig09/Excel to XML for SVG. Additions and adjustments were made in a text editor.
