Deutsch: 04.06.2022 01219 Dresden Leubnitz-Neuostra, Heiligenbornweg am Koitzschgraben: Heiliger Born. Der Heilige Born hat zwei Brunnenausläufe. Der erste (hier im Bild) ist der
Brunnenhügel (GMP: 51.007810,13.758250). Der Heilige Born gilt heute als einer der ältesten Brunnen Dresdens. 1773 ist die Quelle mit Quadersteinen ordentlich eingefaßt und mit einer hohen Ringmauer umgeben worden. Eingehauen waren die Jahreszahlen 1695 und 1736. 1835 erhielt der Brunnen eine stabile Umfassungsmauer. Heute ist er teilweise verfallen. Im Mittelalter befand sich in der Nähe des Quells eine Kapelle. Damit brachte der Brunnen erhebliche Einkünfte für die Abtei Alt-Zella. Bereits Anfang des 18. Jh. führte eine hölzerne Wasserleitung u.a. zu "herrschaftlichem Gebrauch" in die Stadt, so z.B. zum Pirnaischen Palais, dem Haupt Zug Haus und zum Frau Mutter Haus. Diese Leitung wurde im Siebenjährigen Krieg zerstört. Später wurde die 'hölzerne Leubnitzer Röhrfahrt' neu aufgebaut und zuletzt um 1850 erneuert. 1875 wurden die hölzernen Rohre durch gußeiserne ersetzt.
