This state visit is a sign of Timor-Leste’s strong commitment to strengthen bilateral relations that have been closely intertwined for two decades with the Kingdom of Cambodia. The President of Timor-Leste extended sincere gratitude and appreciation to the invaluable supports from the Kingdom of Cambodia for Timor-Leste’s application to become ASEAN member and be entirely convinced that the bilateral ties between both countries will make important contributions to maintain peace and stability in the region, reinforce comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between Timor-Leste and Cambodia. During the meeting, His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK emphasized that Cambodia has an honor to work together with Timor-Leste in Economy, investment, agriculture, tourism, market, and transport sectors and will contribute to Timor-Leste’s development. Both sides affirmed their commitment to give the top priority and do their best to foster bilateral relationship. After the meeting H.E. President DR. José Ramos Horta, accompanied by H.E. Minister Dr. Adaljiza Magno and member of the official delegation proceed to the independence monument and to the monument of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah NORODOM SIHANOUK, king – Father of Cambodia PREAH BORONM RATANAKKAUD. |
