Description
Deutsch: Offenburg 2020. Die im Rahmen der Abriss- und Bauarbeiten zu Tage geförderten Teile der mittelalterlichen Stadtbefestigung auf dem Grundstück Hauptstraße 52. Die Arbeiten beförderten unter anderem einen Inschriftenstein mit der Jahreszahl 1669 sowie den Türsturz einer Wachstube zu Tage. Damit wurden Relikte der ehemaligen Nordbegrenzung der Offenburger Stadtbefestigung entdeckt, die aus der Zeit vor dem großen Stadtbrand 1689 im Pfälzischen Erfolgekrieg datieren. Die Bauwerke werden nach einem Gemeinderatsbeschluß vom 25.09.2020 abgetragen und größtenteils eingelagert, um sie zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt erfahrbar zu machen. Das Landesdenkmalamt hat den Fund als nicht erhaltenswürdig eingestuft. Das Arrangement der Baustellenabsperrung erlaubte für die Öffentlichkeit leider keinen besseren Einblick.
