Description
English: Konark Sun Temple is a hindu temple dedicated to the Sun God, Surya. It was built in he 13th century CE by Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty. The temple is designed in the Kalinga architechtural style in a such a way to represent it as the chariot of Lord Surya with 24 wheels, which are infact sundials. The sundial has 8 spokes , dividing 24 hours into 8 equal sections.
