| Description |
Русский: Die detailreiche Renaissancefassade stammte von 1619. Die Überreste des Hauses, die einen Wiederaufbau nach dem Krieg durchaus erlaubt hätten, wurden 1950 beseitigt. Die Arkaden blieben allerdings als Teil einer Privatbibliothek in Götzenhain erhalten. Mehr als 20 Jahre lag das Grundstück brach. 1972/73 beim Bau der U-Bahnstation Dom/Römer entstand der Archäologische Garten, in dem Ausgrabungen der römischen Niederlassung auf dem Domhügel und der karolingischen Königspfalz Frankfurt zugänglich gemacht wurden.
2007 wurde die Rekonstruktion von Teilen der ehemaligen Altstadt im Dom-Römer-Projekt beschlossen, darunter auch die Wiedererrichtung der Goldenen Waage. 2014 begann der Neubau. Der archäologische Garten wurde dabei überbaut, bleibt aber über das benachbarte Stadthaus am Markt zugänglich. Im Dezember 2017 waren die restaurierte Fachwerkfassade, die Renaissance-Decke im Inneren und das Belvederchen fertiggestellt. Im September 2018 soll das restaurierte Gebäude eröffnet werden, in dem ein Café und eine Außenstelle des Historischen Museums eingerichtet werden. |
