Description
Deutsch: Bild aufgenommen während der Wikipedia Stammtisch Augsburg das Museum besuchte. Porträtkopf einer Frau, Marmor, 24,5 cm hoch, um die Mitte des 2. Jahrhunderts n. Chr. (nach Chr. Schwingenstein), wahrscheinlich ägyptisch-alexandrinisch.

Der Kopf kam mit einer Privatsammlung in das Museum und ist kein Fundstück aus dem römischen Augsburg. – Das Museum informiert:
„Wie bei römischen Frauenporträts üblich entspricht die Frisur der Mode der Zeit und liefert damit eine nützliche Orientierungshilfe für die Datierung. So war die Kranzflechte, welche ihren Kopf krönt, ab spättrajanischer/hadrianischer Zeit modern. Eine Besonderheit sind die Korkenzieherlöckchen. Sie bilden ein für Bildnisse ägyptischer Herkunft typisches Motiv.“
