Summary

[edit]
Description
English: the first successful sheet of light-and-shade watermarked handmade paper made by Yama Ploskonka's innovative flat process. The image is not due to pigment, but solely to the paper being thick or thin in different places, and the resulting opacity causing different amounts of backlight to form an image. A somewhat similar result, using a much different and much more expensive and laborious process is used to watermark currency.
