Summary
[edit]Description2016 Schuilen in Maastricht 08.JPG |
English: Maastricht, the Netherlands. View of a permanent exhibition on World War II in the small museum Schuilen in Maastricht ("Hiding in Maastricht"). The museum uses two galleries in the caponier Wilcke, part of the extensive network of underground fortifications (Kazematten) on the westside of Maastricht. Like other parts of the Kazematten, the caponier Wilcke was used during World War II as a bomb shelter. During the Cold War it was prepared for a limited number of people (100) in the event of nuclear war. |
