| Description |
The 2013 Mid-Willamette Valley Fire School provided course work and on-the-ground training for aspiring and current wildland firefighters. During their training, students encountered severe weather conditions ranging from lows of 52 degrees with torrential downpours to highs in the 90s as they battled the heat to safely extinguish a training fire. By the end of their training, graduates received their "red card" identifying them as qualified with the necessary training, experience, and physical fitness standards to work in wildland fire positions. |
