Recognized by sight: Fresh pileus color cream-colored (ligher than for L. micheneri); dried pileus color blonde to creamy-ochre (lighter than for L. micheneri);

Based on microscopic features: spore size average (n=15) 4.8 X 3.7

Based on chemical features: Taste not acrid
