Der Friedhof Liebenfels ist mit knapp sechs Hektaren Arealfläche die grösste Grünanlage der Stadt Baden. Ausser zu Bestattungszwecken (mit rund 2400 Grabstellen) dient der Friedhof auch als Naherholungsraum. Der Friedhof Liebenfels wurde in den Jahren 1947 – 1949 erstellt. Projektverfasser waren die Landschaftsarchitekten Mertens und Nussbaumer, Zürich. Die Gesamtanlage ist ein herausragendes Beispiel eines Park- und Waldfriedhofes.
