Description

Xerocomellus marekii (Šutara & Skála) Šutara

Image location: Horni rybnik, Novosedly, Bohemia, Czech Republic

Xerocomus marekii has been described from Czech Republic. There are several finds up to now. My find hasn’t been confirmed yet but microfeatures fit well. Cap should be more red but the fruitbody was rather old and dried up as you can see from the wrinkles. The stipe is very striking with its pseudobulb and reddish tint. I hope it will be cleared some day. I am rather convinced of my ID.
