Description

Cortinarius croceus (Schaeff.) Gray

Image location: Fort Ord, Seaside, California, USA

These were growing on a sandy bank near Live oak. 

Spores approx. 6.6-8.0 X 5.0-5.2 microns. 
Mustard gills when young make me lean toward C. croceus.
