Title
2007T28 silver shoe buckle
Description
English: Silver circular shoe buckle with separate spindle set into the shank within the ring. Worn. The reverse stamped with maker's mark RG, possibly as recorded in Jackson' Silver and Gold Marks, ed. Pickford, 1989, p. 146 with recorded use for 1691-2. This would fit the dating of the buckle type but this does not mean the buckle is of this date, just roughly, and it is not possible to securely date it to pre 1707 and as such it falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996.
