| Description |
Deutsch: Museumstag im Bahnbetriebswerk Arnstadt:1867 wurde der Zugbetrieb auf der Strecke Erfurt–Arnstadt aufgenommen. Ein Jahr später wurde das Bahnbetriebswerk Arnstadt in Betrieb genommen.
Seit 1992 beheimatet das Bahnbetriebswerk (Bw) Arnstadt Dampflokomotiven der ehemaligen Reichsbahndirektion Erfurt. Es befindet sich an der über den Thüringer Wald führenden Bahnstrecke Erfurt–Schweinfurt , an der 70 km langen Eisenbahnstrecke Erfurt–Arnstadt–Saalfeld sowie an der Bahnstrecke nach Ilmenau. Engagierten Eisenbahnern gelang es 1994, den dauerhaften Bestand der Anlage des Bahnbetriebswerkes Arnstadt mit der Gründung des Fördervereins Bw Arnstadt/hist. zu sichern und es in das Eisenbahnmuseum Bahnbetriebswerk Arnstadt/hist. umzuwandeln. |
