Description
Nederlands: Groenmarkt 8 (2003)

Trip, hout/leer/ijzer (1400-1500) het bovenleer bestaat uit twee driehoekige lappen, waarvan de punten met elkaar zijn bevestigd; het bovenleer zit met ijzeren nageltjes vastgeklonken aan de trip.


De trip werd gedragen in combinatie met een leren schoen, die onder de wreefband werd geschoven. De schoenen sleten minder snel en waren op deze wijze iets beschermd tegen de modderige onverharde straten.


In opdracht van woningbouwvereniging Bouwen en Bewaren werd in augustus en september 2003 een opgraving uitgevoerd op de locatie Groenmarkt 8 te Gorinchem. Van het begin van de 14de tot het eind van de 16de eeuw heeft hier een gasthuis gestaan.
