Description
English: Sgt. Joseph Abeyta (center), an infantryman assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters “Hatchet,” Company, 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment “Leader Rakkasans,” 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), supporting 3rd Infantry Division, prepares his team’s sniper rifle at the 1,000-meter range of the Estonia Defence League's Long Range Distance Shooting Championship Series near Parnu, Estonia, April 6, 2024. The competition included snipers from Estonia, France, and the United States. Abeya placed second in the sniper magnum category, shooting a 300 Winchester Magnum at targets ranging from 400 to 800 meters. The 3rd Infantry Division’s mission in Europe is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, working alongside NATO allies and regional security partners to provide combat-credible forces to V Corps, America’s forward-deployed corps in Europe.
