Summary
[edit]Description1RAR soldier and KATCOM carry barbed wire to a defense position.jpg |
English: Sergeant (Sgt) Bill Eacott, of Sherwood, Qld, helps South Korean soldier Kim Si Hwan carry a roll of barbed wire to an outlying defence position on the Kansas Line in Korea. Both men are serving with C Company of the 1st Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (1RAR). South Korean soldiers have been serving with Australian units for some time, and at present there are 35 attached to 1RAR. Sgt Eacott served for six years in the Australian Army in the Second World War, and re-enlisted in 1951. Before he joined up again he was working for the Brisbane Telegraph. (Sgt Eacott is probably 12205 Frederick Henry Eacott). |
