Griesinger, Wilhelm: Die Pathologie und Therapie der psychischen Krankheiten für Aerzte und Studirende. Zweite, umgearbeitete und sehr vermehrte Auflage.

Wilhelm Griesinger (1817 - 1868)war 1847 - 1849 Professor in Tübingen, 1850 in Kiel, ab 1854 Direktor der Medizinischen Klinik in Tübingen und ab 1864 Leiter der psychiatrischen Abteilung der Charite zu Berlin. Als "Somatiker" forderte Griesinger "in den psychischen Krankheiten jedesmal Erkrankungen des Gehirns zu erkennen" (S. 1). Mit der zweiten, grundlegend überarbeiteten Auflage seines Lehrbuches von 1861 wurde nach Pinel und Esquirol für etwa 100 Jahre die deutschsprachige Psychiatrie führend: Griesinger → Wernicke → Kahlbaum → Kraepelin → E. Bleuler → Jaspers → K. Schneider.
