Barbados Green. Built from March 1974-Feb 1976 Engine; 5000 V8 240bhp 263 L34s made, destined to race at Bathurst. The LH Torana generally had rectangular headlights, with the exception of the SLR5000 L34 which had round headlights like the later model LX. The SL/R gained full instrumentation, radial ply tyres, rally striping and a four speed floor shift manual. The SLR 3.3 and 4.2 didn't come with spoilers or flares, the standard SLR 5000 came with spoilers front and rear and the L34 came with flares as well. The L34 was built so the Torana could be Homologated for racing, as well as the bolt on flares, the L34 got bigger brakes from the HQ, special pistons, roller rockers, larger inlet and exhaust valves, headers, baffled sump and twin point dizzy. On top of that, the Performance Pack gave you an oil cooler, solid lifters, competition pistons and 780cfm Holley. Although the L34 suffered from flimsy brakes and fragile diff and transmission it did win the Bathurst Hardie Ferodo 1000 in 1975 (Peter Brock and Brian Sampson) and in 1976 (Bob Morris and John Fitzpatrick)
