Henry Shaw $2.00 Cape Town $3.50 SCARLET RIBBON (Tompkins, '66) ML. 36" $3.00 One of the red-toned varieties with a close to scarlet garden effect. A vivid shade of smooth red with a light undertone of orange. Clean hafts and profuse flowering habit. Long season of bloom. HM, '67. SEASHELL MUSIC (Ernst, '65) ML. 36" $2.00 A blend of rose and copper etched on creamy white, remindful of some of the colorful seashells from tropic shores. Huge in size, ideal in form, the flowers of thick enamel-like substance provide good opportunity for breeding. See page 30. SEA VENTURE (B. Jones, 72) M. 34" $15.00 One of the most unusual and beautiful color patterns. The standards are pale blue, but with a flush of deep marine or ink blue at the base. They are ruffled and overlap at the top. The wide flaring and ruffled falls are pale blue. The stalks are well branched, with many buds and vigorous plant growth. HC, 71; HM, '73. May Melody $2.00 SHIPSHAPE (Babson, '69) M. 38" $10.00 Dense medium blue with light yellow beard. Petals are very wide and full and result in a huge flower. Standards are deeply fluted and the falls overlap. Stalks are strong and well branched. HM, '70. Franklin Cook Award, '73. Pictured on page 4. SIERRA DAWN (Gaulter, 70) EM. 36" $8.00 This is a lively shade of blended rose and lavender, lit with a soft amber glow at the heart. The style arms exhibit this amber tint rather strongly and this in turn is punctuated by a bright burnt orange beard. Faultless form, waved and fluted. See page 16. SILENCE (Tompkins, '66) ML. 36" $7.50 A brilliantly rich, deep yellow with a self-colored beard and a slightly lighter canary yellow glow over the central part of the falls. Tomp- kins considers this his finest yellow to date. HM, '68. See page 15. SIVA-SIVA (Gibson, '62) M. 36" $1.00 A flamboyant combination of rich golden standards flushed with cinnamon and porcelain white falls heavily bordered and etched brilliant red-mahogany-brown. HM, '63. See page 51. Orange Parade $3.00
