Summary

[edit]
Description
English: A Tri-Met (now TriMet) bus stop with passenger shelter and marked by the blue-triangle bus stop sign Tri-Met used in the 1970s and early 1980s. (A new white, rectangular design of sign was phased-in between 1979 and 1985.) This early 1985 photo is at Union Manor, on SE 23rd Avenue in Portland's Westmoreland neighborhood, on route 19-Woodstock. At the time, this was one of the very few stops in the Tri-Met system still marked by a blue triangle bus stop sign, as the program to replace these with more informative signs (showing route number, etc.) had essentially been completed.
The style of passenger shelter shown here is still in use at some TriMet stops, but since the 1990s most newly installed shelters have been to a newer design - blue and with an arched roof.
