Description

The European Capri was their Pony car with Cortina running gear, the MkI was built from 1969-74 (facelift in 1970) It was available with V4 engines in Germany and the 2300GT In the UK it was the 1.3 and 1.6 4 cyl Kent or the 3000 V6 In 1970 the 2000 Pinto engine was used and the race ready RS2600 was available. 1971 saw a facelift and the RS2600 replaced with the RS3100.

The Mk I (pre facelift) was also produced in Australia from 1969-72 in 1600 Deluxe, this car, the 1600GT, (later called the XL) when the 1970 3000 V6 GT was introduced.
