Description

The ZA Fairlane was built from March 1967-March 1968. The 1st Fairlane to be designed and built in Australia. It was based on the XR Falcon. The XR Falcon was a completely new design, with its long nose and short tail Mustang styling It retained the traditional round Falcon tail lamps and single headlight grille, like the earlier Falcons. Good news was a V8 and front disc brakes were now available with the XR. The ZA Fairlane got a twin headlight grille and square taillights, 127 mm longer in the wheelbase. The front and centre remained the same but it got a longer boot, the quarters and boot were borrowed from the US Fairlane, the rear seat was moved back for more leg room. The 500 also got ribbed chrome strip below the doors, bucket seats and woodgrain dash, the base Fairlane, a bench seat
