Arctic White. The Lincoln Motor Company was originally founded in 1917 and since 1922 has been the luxury vehicle division of the American Ford Motor Company. The 4th generation Continental was built from 1961-69, all Continentals now would be have 4 doors, either sedans or convertibles. The forward look and fender fins of the previous generation were gone, now a smaller, slab sided car with trademark rear hinged rear 'suicide' doors, last used on the 1951 Lincolns (designed this way to make it easier to get in and out). From 1961-64, the Continental had a convex grille, with mild revisions each year 1965, convex grille gone, now flat, indicators now on fender corners, 1966, a finer grille, indicators inboard again, slightly bigger car, new 430 engine, 2 door Hardtop introduced. 1967, few changes, Lincoln emblem on the front fender deleted 1968, indicators on front fender corners again, no hood ornament, no convertible, new 460 engine The Thunderbird based Mk III 2 door Coupe was introduced in 1968, it got the Rolls Royce style waterfall grille and hideaway headlights. 1969, minor changes, grille now egg crate divided into 18 sections
