The Mk I was built from 1959-67. Starting off called the Morris Mini Minor and The Austin 7, then called the Morris Mini and Austin Mini in 1961. The new Mini was a very influential design, with its transverse engine, front wheel drive and independent suspension. It featured the 1st 10 inch wheels, sliding side windows with storage pockets below 2 door only, in Saloon, Estate, Van, Pickup and Moke. Also the performance Cooper and Cooper S and upmarket Wolseley Hornet and Riley Elf Engines; 850, 1000, 1100 and 1275 |
