Description
English: This crowd along Hamilton Street and Center Square came to see Presidential Candidate, Senator John F. Kennedy, speak in Center square on October 28th, 1960. Kennedy spoke in Allentown about a week before the 1960 Presidential Election between him and Vice-President Richard M Nixon, who had visited Allentown earlier in October. This photo was taken from the roof of the First National Bank, looking west and shows Kennedy standing in a convertible with a motorcycle police escort. Spectators are lining the roofs of the buildings to see Kennedy.
