[edit]Description1954 Austin Healey 100 BN1 (25734900820).jpg |
The Austin Healey 100 was the 1st of the Big Healeys, built from 1953-56, as opposed to the smaller Sprite. This, the 1st 100, the 1953 BN1, got the 90 hp 2660cc in line 4 cyl from the A90. In 1955 the BN1 was replaced by the BN2, it got slightly larger front wheel arches and 4 speed transmission replacing the 3 speed. Later in 1955 a faster model became available, the 100M, it got a larger carby, cold air box and high lift camshaft producing 110 hp. It also had stiffer suspension, louvres in the bonnet and a belt across it. |
