Description

After World War II ended in 1946, Chevrolet started building cars again, the 1946 model was very similar to the 1942 car, the grille was changed, the centre vertical bar was gone and indicators were changed from vertical in 42 to horizontal in 46. Another facelift in 1947 saw the belt line mould and the grille change again, the grille lost the chrome surround and the bars spread out more over the fenders. The 1946/47 Chev was available in base Stylemaster and upmarket Fleetmaster in Sedan, Coupe, Convertible, Wagon and Delivery. Also available was the fastback bodied, Fleetline in Sedan or Coupe. Chevrolet sedans were also produced in Australia by General Motors using modified American bodies from 1926-68.
