Description
English: SS Galizien recruits waiting for head of district (Kreishauptmann). Kreishauptmann Hoffstetter of SS Galizien enters Greek Catholic church in Sanok, Poland.


Deutsch: SS-Rekruten aus Galizien warten auf den Bezirksleiter (Kreishauptmann). Kreishauptmann Johann Anton Hoffstetter von der SS-Galizien betritt die griechisch-katholische Kirche in Sanok, Polen.


Kommentar: Das Foto zeigt in der Dreiergruppe in der Mitte wahrscheinlich als ersten von links den damaligen Landrat des Kreises Sanok (Waldkarpaten) Dr. Johann Anton Hoffstetter aus Jülich. Dr. Hoffstetter war 1943/1944 Landrat (Starost) in Sanok. Er war zuvor in der "Inneren Verwaltung" der Regierung des Generalgouvernements. Weiteres muss noch erforscht werden. Hof(f)stätter, Hofshiller und Hofscheller sind andere Verballhornungen des Namens "Hoffstätter".
