Summary

[edit]
Description

1931 AEC ST Type (Short Type) Bus No.ST821 of the National Omnibus & Transport Co., an associate company of the London General Omnibus Co., but which worked in the country areas around North London (hence a green livery), being based in Watford. It was withdrawn in 1949, at which time it was in the green livery of London Transport Country Buses, as pictured at the London Transport Acton Depot Museum, 25 September 2026.

AEC produced the prototype chassis of its Regent I Srs.663 in 1929 for the LGOC (as well as associate companies and independents) who designated it the ST Type. The body was produced by LGOC's Chiswick works and was the first London bus to have an enclosed staircase. Production followed in 1930. The LTPB, which took over the LGOC), continued production with improvements until 1940 when 1,400 had been built.
