Summary

[edit]
Description
English: 740 Hamilton Street, photographed in 1927. It was the home of the M. S. Young Hardware store, which was founded in 1843 by Stephen Barber. Joseph Young, a blacksmith, joined in 1845. Young was a Republican and a delegate to the 1850 Republican Convention, which nominated Abraham Lincon as President. In 1864, Barber sold his part of the buisness, and it was renamed M. S. Young Hardware for Young's Brother and buisness partner, Mark S. Young. In 1873, the buisness moved to this new structure at 740 Hamilton, where it remained in buisness until 1964.
