Description
Nederlands: Artikel over viering 330-jarig bestaan van het Venlose Akkermansgilde in De Katholieke Illustratie. Dit artikel vermelde: "Het Akkermansgilde, dat op 12 Juli zijn 330-jarige erkenning vierde, was oorspronkelijk 'n godsdienstige vereniging. Van zijn taak: het opluisteren van feesten en processies heeft het zich altijd trouw gekweten, waardoor het bij de bevolking zeer gezien is. Groote belangstelling was er voor het schuttersfeest, waaraan 52 gilden deelnamen. Van deze festiviteit, vol zuidelijke fleur, geven we hier de f belangwekkendste momenten weer, oa.:
  1. De koningen en koninginnen verlaten de Markt.
  2. Bij den marschwedstrtjd blinken de Duitschers uit door het stramme exerceeren.
  3. Het défilé der gezelschappen voor het stadhuis.
  4. Valuas („de stichter van Venlo") en zijn vrouw op de Markt.
  5. De optocht naar het feestterrein.
